Without a family to care for the orphaned children in  Nigeria  and  environs,  with  one  out  of  five children dying before the age of five, the plight of the orphans is hopelessness. Life expectancy is between 45 -50 years of age; so many factors are militating  against  these orphans  among so  many are;

  • INADEQUATE  FOOD  SUPPLY;  Malnutrition weakens children’s ability to resist attack to infectious disease. It also has a negative impact on children’s cognitive development.
  • ACCESS TO CLEAN WATER
  • POOR ACCESS TO MEDICAL CARE:  The health status of Nigerians is poor, even when compared to other low – income countries including those in sub – Saharan Africa. The population suffers from huge burden of potentially preventable diseases such as malaria, typhoid, HIV, tuberculosis,   acute   respiratory   infection   and diarrheal diseases. Orphans generally represent the poorest segment of a society and suffer most with no parents to help and guide them in their struggle for survival in already cruel world.
  • POOR  ACCESS  TO  EDUCATION:  Adult  literacy  is  at  39%.If  you couple that with a net primary school attendance/enrollment of only 32%,  the  cycle  of  poor  access  to  education  continues.  The  average Nigeria living below one dollar a day, it’s difficult to pay the required school expenses like uniforms, exercise books and school maintenance costs.
  • CLOTHING AND  CHILD  HOOD  MEMORABILIAS:  In  present  world,  a  child  needs  clothes,  shoes,  etc, sometimes the ones that suits different weather conditions.
